Time to dust off your running shoes!

Wahoo! It's that time of year once again... time to dust off your running shoes and get ready for the Glenbrook Runner's Club!!

Glenbrook Runner's Club will start
Tuesday, April 5th, 2016

We hope that you will find this blog to be an informational tool for you. You will find our training calendar, run information and more all in one place for you. Updates will be posted as they are available. Please sign up with your email on the right hand side of the blog to receive update notifications.

The Glenbrook Runner's Club
will follow the same structure as in year's past.
  • Training is open to students in grades 3, 4, and 5.
  • Training runs will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school at 3:00.
  • Pick up time will vary week to week depending on our mileage. Please check the training calendar for approximate nightly pick up times. We ask that you please be courteous to our volunteers and be punctual in picking your child up.
  • Parents and family members are welcome to train with us! Please let us know if you are interested in running with us, walking, slow jogging at the end of the group, or monitoring intersections or if you are able to help provide water stations, snacks, or even help at "Race Day". Any and all help is appreciated and makes this experience better and safer for our students.
  • Respectful, responsible, and safe behavior is expected during training
  • Dress appropriately for the weather (sweatpants and jackets will likely be needed the first couple of weeks)
  • We run outside rain or shine (if severe weather is in the area we will run indoors)
  • Students are required to stay for post-run stretching (pick up times have been estimated based on past experience. Please be patient as we finish our post run stretching as this is a critical piece of preventing injuries)

Our group will be training for both the Bellin Run (10K) and the Cellcom (5K). Your child has the option of participating in one or both of these races. If your child isn’t interested in participating in the races, they are still more than welcome to come and train with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
